I understand why _they_ would want to replace jobs with AI, but not why _we_ would want it. The democratic world as we know it is largely based on labour, and especially intellectual labour, having a lot of leverage. If it is no longer the case, most of people are not needed any more, and their opinion doesn't matter, as simple as that. Not sure how you (as a worker) want to prepare for that - maybe by becoming depressed, quiet and atomized in advance. US leaders (political and big tech) seem to be preparing exactly for that now, but my assumption is you are not one of them.
