X1Plus: Custom Firmware for Bambu Lab X1 and X1 Carbon 3D Printers
- deleted 2y ago[deleted]
- pbronez 2y agoSaw this mentioned on the big thread about Bambu Labs recent “security” update. The project hadn’t been submitted in several months, so I figured time to resubmit. Since the project was started, TeachingTech put the X1Plus devs in touch with Bambu Labs corporate. Apparently as a result, Bambu released tool that allows you to downgrade your firmware to a version X1Plus can exploit to sideload community firmware. Here’s how it works: https://github.com/X1Plus/X1Plus/wiki/Installation-Guide#unlock-your-printer-and-get-your-access-codes https://github.com/X1Plus/X1Plus/wiki/Installation-Guide#unl...
- elintknower 2y agoDoes this still allow use of the lidar + laser leveling systems?
- jjkaczor 2y agoYes it does. The bed levelling/tramming process is even better and gives you more information/control over things. So far, I have had it for a week, printed about 36+ hours and not a problem - seems smoother than before.
- Ruthalas 2y agoAs far as I can tell, this is exclusively for the X1C. There is not yet an equivalent for the P1S, correct?
- jjkaczor 2y agoCorrect - the P1S and other machines do not run a full Linux AFAIK. One third-party manufacturer is looking at making replacement control boards.
