On one hand: well, when you have to keep big mental models in your head you don't want to be interrupted. The big headphones serve to indicate you are in the middle of work.
On the other hand: have you ever been on a construction site? You'll hear some radio usually.

- arkh 2y agoYup, used this exact same model for some time. The problem is it does not block voice sound as well as other. But anything else? Silence. It is crazy how loud an AC can sound after you remove those.
