It's funny how "harmful" rarely requires the nature of that harm, and the victims of that harm, to be specified.

I'm going to try and say this as politely as I can.
Open source has always, always been about people showing up and doing the work, often unasked and unrewarded. Those individuals deserve thanks and respect.
What they don't deserve is having their work be rolled into an amorphous borg blob that any hack activist with a chip on their shoulder can wear as a skin suit to justify their latest political tantrum.
I half suspect this is just people acting out because they hate Musk, but can't touch him, so they go after the next best available Elon substitute.
- neonsunset 2y agoDrew goes after smaller fish too like writing smear campaigns on the Hyprland author (i.e. praising RedHat employees for banning Hyprland from FDO of all things for old non-FDO-related activity as a form of their little ideological vendetta, arguably damaging the OSS particularly cursor standardization efforts).
