Trudeau needs to call an election now. His government doesn't have the support to take any action. Him and his Liberals are finished, and it's totally inappropriate for them to negotiate this issue.
- ygjb 2y agoTrudeau is the currently elected Prime Minister, and it appears that Singh and many other Canadian Federal MPs and provincial leaders are aligned. There is an upcoming leadership race, and then an election. Calling an election now, presumably with Trump tariff orders coming out tomorrow would lock Canadians into an election with a caretaker government that would be unable to pass any meaningful legislation. It would be monumentally stupid and your comment makes it clear you have little to no understanding of our government.
