Show HN: AI check-in app for people living alone
I made https://AssureOkay.com https://AssureOkay.com the smart check-in app that gives solo dwellers peace of mind.
Our AI assistant calls you daily for a quick chat to confirm you're safe, and automatically alerts your emergency contacts if needed.
Help with independent living while keeping your loved ones worry-free. Simple, non-intrusive, and reliable - because everyone deserves to feel secure living alone.
- narmiouh 2y agoIs it necessary that this be an 'AI' app?
- eza 2y agothe AI part is the phone call with an AI assistant that assesses your wellbeing. not a necessity, a feature
- grajaganDev 2y agoCan the AI be disabled? https://x.com/AndrewSchmidtFC/status/1849947375873425889?lang=en https://x.com/AndrewSchmidtFC/status/1849947375873425889?lan...
- eza 2y agohaha I chuckled. yes it can!
- grajaganDev 2y agoI think this is pretty awesome. I like the multiple attempts it you miss the first call. Maybe add the option to check in manually. Sometimes I am in locations without cell service, in meetings all day, etc. Also voice recognition to prevent a different party from answering/confirming in the case of a kidnapping or domestic abuse.
- eza 2y agoyou can definitely check-in manually if you wish! Thanks for the great feedback
- jareds 2y agoWhen initially looking at this my thought was that this is a way to ditch personal responsibility. How hard can it be to call your family member once every day or two to make sure there ok? Thinking about it more I could see this being useful for people with conflicting schedules such as night shift workers. I also think it may be helpful in cases where someone is in early stages of dementia and needs multiple check-ins a day. (I have no personal experience with dementia so may be totally off.) It may be good to update the description and marketing copy to have this be an addition to normal check-ins from actual care givers or family members.
- eza 2y agogreat take! thanks for the feedback
