taubek, yeah, it seems like Google is rolling it out by default for Workspace accounts. I’ve seen similar behavior with some of their other services where they enable features proactively, and you have to manually opt out if you don’t want it. From the blog post, it looks like they’re positioning Gemini as a big AI upgrade, but the whole “auto-enabled” thing without explicit consent feels off, especially since it might lead to charges. I’d recommend double-checking your admin console and turning it off if you don’t plan on using it.
