- nine_k 2y agoPetroleum can be successfully extinguished with water and foam. Lithium batteries cannot be extinguished by easy known means; the recommended course of action, AFAIK, is to evacuate and cool the space around the fire, and let the burning finish. This requires very special approaches to the architecture of a battery installation, and likely rather special insurance premiums.
