Sadly true. The data centers built in the next few years will be powered by natural gas, and some fraction of the hype around nuclear-powered AI may be driven by them attempting to distract us all from the massive increase in fossil usage that they're ordering right now. I'm glad they're saying they want nuclear, and I understand they will use what's available when they need it. For us in nuclear, we have to focus on delivering reactor products that can be built on time and on budget so that AI or any other load can both want us and actually get us.
