US finalizes rule to effectively ban Chinese vehicles
- quantified 2y agoIt only bans connected vehicles. If it spurred imports of disconnected vehicles, of adequate quality, I'd be in favor of that outcome.
- dv_dt 2y agoThis could backfire as spectacularly as the TikTok ban, I think I'd love a cheap EV made even cheaper and more secure by being regulated to be disconnected
- quantified 2y agoFor an EV, and it almost certainly would be, software updates would still be required sometimes, I expect. Let me download to a thumb drive and update from there.
