I'm on a Mac, so I use Safari, too, but were I on any other platform I can't imagine NOT using Firefox. How did we get to a point where the dominant browser is

I'm on a Mac, so I use Safari, too, but were I on any other platform I can't imagine NOT using Firefox. How did we get to a point where the dominant browser is designed to be hostile to user choice?
