This is a great example of a news story being propagated, citing other news stories as evidence of the claim. It has so far been carried by media outlets such as WSJ, Bloomberg and Reuters, with each propagation creating a sense of evidence as 'papers of record' add validation to the original claim. Edelman Trust Barometer 2025 comes out later this month; journalists will be right down there with politicians as amongst the least trusted people in society. The same media outlets will then run a series of articles bemoaning misinformation, the moral decay of us plebieans and the coming end of democracy, completely oblivious to their own contribution to the lack of trust we have in society
