Let's talk about bird tongues (2014)
- ge96 2y agoHummingbirds and woodpeckers... why
- fiforpg 2y agoYeah, the best part is that a woodpecker's tongue wraps all the way around the back of his head and attaches in the right nostril. The head effectively serves as a spool for the tongue. Awesome technology.
- zonkerdonker 2y agoNot only that, but it the way it wraps around their skull acts like a shock dampener for their brain when they peck. Their skulls experience something like 1200g during a peck, humans get a serious concussion around 60g. Evolution is wild
- veunes 2y agoIt seems straight out of science fiction
- veunes 2y agoWow... geese and ducks filter food like baleen whales
