You can also buy second hand to save another 50-80% when you do upgrades due to something catastrophically breaking. I got a used but very good quality mid tier Ryzen laptop for $200 from a few generations ago and added 32GB memory and a nvme drive and it’s an absurdly good computer for dev work.
