The father would pay for an apartment for his son, no strings attached, and still find him sleeping in the street. It may be possible to "solve" homelessness for some majority of people. But I doubt 100% is ever humanly achievable. At least, not without some massive breakthrough in understanding and intervention for mental illnesses.
