I don't understand why we don't just stratify by profession and weigh the lottery by salary.
- slt2021 2y agoHigh COL areas will take all the visas at the expense of low COL

- aprilthird2021 2y agoBecause some professions are valuable but we are also vulnerable in those industries to international competition, so jacking up our labor rates positions us worse. Think of semiconductors for example.
