Have you considered Kamon instead? From personal experience it's really the best tracing solution for Akka and other libraries using Scala Futures. I haven't tried it, but it does have built-in Spring support as well.

Edit: I wonder why suggesting JVM instrumentation that is much more polished than the OTel and Lightbend agents gets me downvoted?
- pdimitar 2y agoI have not downvoted you but you seem to recommend a very specific and tailor-made product for a specific tech stack. OpenTelemetry is universal. As long as you can send the right network packages to one of a number of ingesting programs, you can have pretty dashboards and a lot of insights, regardless of the programming language of the program that originated the metric / trace / log.
