Headline makes no sense because companies all want to grow. Reducing staff to do the same amount of work isn't the goal. IMO this is just clickbait and stuff to get people riled up. In reality when AI becomes that useful we'll just be outputting more, expectations will be higher, probably not being paid more for our new efficiency. In "In Praise of Idleness", theres an interesting point made, if technology that made us more efficient actually allowed us to work less, we would be doing it already, instead were expected to be more productive with the same amount of working hours
