Woven City seems to be more successful than Masdar City. Masdar City explicitly aims to be a model of sustainability while Woven City uses sustainability as a means to achieve broader goals. I believe that Masdar City could have navigated the 2008 and 2020 financial crises more efficiently had they been more flexible about the expectations (which have yet to be realized). There is a subtle irony in trying to brute-force sustainability.
