Pretty much every newspaper/TV news channel/news website in Europe has a left-wing or right-wing bias. This article and the EU's comments feel like they are trying to interfere because they don't like the direction of the alleged bias, not because of any legal issues (apart from any clearly illegal contents)... So it is a very political struggle of the left and centre vs the right even if they won't of course admit it. That's pretty much the general political landscape in Europe at the moment.
