I think we have a fundamental issue with logic and media literacy in this country and if we don't fix it soon we are going to have trouble. With the flood of AI generated content featuring citations that are generated to support the content or flatly don't exist or support it, spotting facts is becoming harder. To top it off GPT is replacing web search and uses a soup of sources that are not vetted in its responses. Bias and "fake news" is a red herring at this point keeping us distracted while all accountability is eroded on the easiest to use platform for these kinds of checks. At this point I'm going back to books for sources because (hopefully) editors at publishing houses are still trying to vet AI generated garbage.
