It would be associated with the United States of America, not North or South America or even “America” if it referred to both continents. Nobody in Belize or Paraguay or Cuba is under the impression that renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America is for hemispheric unity… I’m surprised he isn’t trying to name it the Gulf of Texas or the Gulf of Florida. Personally I think the Gulf of Ohio has a nice ring to it. We have already taken over Pasadena, California and the entire state of South Carolina as things currently stand.
