Elon Musk announces 'algorithm tweak' to tamp down 'negativity' on X

- yakshaving_jgt 2y agoMusk is obsessed with trying to ridicule possibly the greatest leader of our time, and then feels his platform is too negative? What an unhinged individual.

- PaulHoule 2y ago... catching up with Bluesky! It's hilarious to see Bluesky members say things like "It's so beautiful that there is no algorthmic feed on Bluesky and each comment is by somebody with a soul" (Well maybe I have a soul but my better half YOShInOn that posts with me doesn't [1]) I won't correct them, but the "Discover" tab Bluesky defaults to is very different from the "Following" tab. My rough estimate (N=200 or so) is that the Discover feed has about 1/4 the emotionally negative content that there is in following. To stand Mastodon I need about 30 filters so I'm not overwhelmed with negativity, I haven't needed this for Bluesky because it has filters built in. If you see the problem with "fake news" is that it is fake you need to create a god to tell truth from false. If you see that the problem is that it is emotionally negative and viral "news" you need SBERT + RNN + 10,000 well chosen training examples, though I think I'd have to back on Paxil if I had to curate a few thousands negative toots.
