My solution is a PiHole instance at home, combined with a split tunnel WireGuard connection to route my phone's DNS queries through it while I'm on the go. It's completely app- and platform-agnostic.
- dc3k 2y agoi’ve been doing the same for a few years now. wireguard’s “on demand” feature is perfect for this. the odd time i’ll have to shut it off to get through a captive wifi portal, but otherwise it (along with browser ad blockers) has made mobile browsing significantly less terrible
