The CFPB Wants You to Pay for Mistakes of Others
- bell-cot 2y agoActually, it's about Zelle fraud. At $Job, our bank is one of the owners of Zelle. A few years ago, a possible one-off vendor insisted on payment via Zelle. Our bank's quiet advice was that the vendor was fairly likely fraudulent - because the only real advantage of Zelle, in that situation, was that it was fraud-friendly by design. (But to be fair to the banks - I'm sure they have millions of customers who want the zero-friction, zero-overhead power to do anything whatever with their money - but as soon as that goes wrong, they expect price-no-object nanny state customer service.)
