Is there a day in the not so distant future that power requirements for desktop PCs (specifically those with bleeding edge GPUs like a 5090) will be so high that they require a dedicated 15A circuit in your house?
- slowmovintarget 2y agoI almost needed to do that for running the uninterruptible power supply needed for a 4090 rig. I decided to squeak by with a 1200 watt UPS, but theoretically I should have a much higher wattage UPS, which would have required a special outlet. I balked and decided to live with 2 minutes power at max draw in an interruption (which is rare where I live anyway). I mean... You wouldn't just plug that into the wall and allow all the inconsistencies of household power to have their way with your rig, right?
