Over the past 2 years, my company has laid off over 70% of the US based engineers.
Only, 20-30 are left.
Many of those positions were "re-structured", and re-hired in Eastern Europe.
As an engineering manager, my job was not cut, but if I leave they will re-hire my position in Europe.
Everyone in the US who managed to get another job, the replacement req was not filled in the US.
The engineering office in the US was shutdown, and the remaining folks mostly work from home.
