Space debris weighing over 1k pounds reportedly crashes into village in Kenya
- stephenr 2y agoSo the original press release from Kenya's space agency stated "about 500kg". This is then converted to "some 1,100 lbs" for some backwater non-metric country. That's then editorialised to "over 1k pounds". I mean sure at least it's not been converted into the "average dumps produced by the spotted miniature horse after a good run" unit of mass but that's pretty low bar to meet or exceed.

- stephenr 2y ago> To make it more relatable, 1k lbs is approximately 71.5 stone How is that relatable? What size are the stones?
