  West coast VCs and technocrats are seeking autonomy and control vs being subjected to nation state regulation and regulators with authority over traditional finance. East coast will remain the center of traditional finance (NYC but Miami is growing into this), hence the chase of blockchain and crypto. If you can’t beat them, you build your own. Very similar to how StarLink terms state Mars will be self governing when Elon gets there, and how he uses his wealth today to control and project power. Once you have enough wealth, all that’s left to chase and hoard is power and status.
