I finally just caved and joined twitter. I've done it a few times before but this time it was surprisingly pleasant. Was able to use my google account and see posts. I find it refreshing. I don't know why we thought Musk ruined twitter (maybe he did) but as a user I am actually on board with whatever he did since I could never get into twitter in the past.
- nemo44x 2y agoYeah Twitter/X has been great since many of the scolds and hall monitors were chased away. There's open discussions from all sides, even the more unsavory ones, and the communities that were not propped up by the scolds and hall monitors are as vibrant as ever. It's not perfect but I think more people feel comfortable posting there now and can speak frankly and openly. A few accounts I liked left but I guess I don't really miss them as new accounts have filled their space. It could also be the communities I use Twitter for weren't affected by the culture change at Twitter.
