I am sure for some people it’s about “illegal” immigration, and that’s certainly the messaging, but if that were actually the main case, maybe Republicans would do something to make legal immigration less awful? My idiot grandmother, in no uncertain terms, thinks Mexicans should be deported for racist reasons. She has let the curtain slip enough times to make that obvious. I don’t think it’s bad to call outright racist people “idiots”.
