  So what exactly happens if/when the (seemingly arbitrary) 100 billion mark is hit? Microsoft divests (LOL)? OpenAI dissolves? They release everything for free? But hey, at least we have a target to look out for. We know that if they start nearing the 100 billion mark, we should be on the lookout for the next sca- err, endeavour that Altman takes up

  Right, the term was hijacked to generate hype for investors. Someone needs to call them out on it because it's also generating a lot of unnecessary fear like machines are about to gain awareness and civilization as we know it will end. It's just a bunch of companies trying to make money and are now worried that they bet on a new industrial revolution but are instead getting a specialized tool with limited application.
