If there's one thing I've learned from executive responses to COVID, it's that unless they are the founder with a personal relationship to the company, executives are short sighted sycophants to the market who hire short sighted sycophants. It's all a sham. As long as they get paid in the short term they do not care about the long term. Also, if it cannot be measured trivially then it does not exist to them.
