- MrVandemar 2y agoFrom the linked wikipedia article: > Inspectors are required to obtain permission from owners to gain entry; when permission is not granted, they must obtain a court order. From the article, it feels like the people in the building should have been held to greater accountability (like being open, and allowing the inspectors to do their job), and the inspectors were hamstrung by requiring permission to do their job. The language of the book is all "build", "create", "demonstrate", "show", and advocates for better accountability along with novel approaches to solving problems, rather than restrictions. That's a far cry from a fire in a poorly managed artist collective, which was a tragedy, but it seems like there were failures on multiple levels there.
