- bdangubic 2y agothis is the wildest comment I’ve read on HN this year by far :) might give you serbia, maybe even hungary and russia but latin america…?! just in my small world numerous families go to latin america every year for vacations etc…
- like_any_other 2y agoBut they're exposed to the culture all the same, and are appalled by it - the same reason Italians will argue about food even when they're unaffected by what some foreigner they'll never meet eats.
- DecoySalamander 2y agoMigration from Central Asia is certainly a topic in Russian discourse. Some talk about Uzbeks coming to replace them while "real" Russians die in a war, some extol the virtues of Tajiks who, unlike other lazy Russians, are willing to work in construction for pennies and under inhuman conditions. Frankly, very similar to US talk.
