It's worse than that, because the larger pipes take longer to sound, so you have to deal with variable latency. If you get a chance, you should watch an organist play from close up. It's really disorienting how little immediate feedback there is.
- colomon 14y agoI should have said, one of my summer jobs during college was "church organist" -- at a small church with a lovely old pipe organ that had exactly these issues.
