Can't you already contract with Samsung?
The problem is Samsung's chips aren't as good, not even close. Google Tensor is basically a full generation behind Qualcomm, with most benchmarks showing 30%+ gains by Qualcomm.
The only reason to choose them is cost, and there's already stiff competition there.
- stogot 2y agoThe more competition the better right? Even a generation behind (at relevant prices) would still be worthwhile to a large segment of the market, right?
- osnium123 2y agoThis feels like Samsung wants to wash its hands of the foundry division and KSMC would be a way to get money from the government to help make it independent without it going bankrupt.
