Ask HN: Which matter more - happy client or happy end user?

Your the in charge of making a creative product at the request of a client or manager. Give the client/manager a hard time for the sake of the end user or just take it easy and do what they say (while getting paid hourly)? Remember, the client really love their ideas and believes they know best. Note: If it does end up like this in the end, you would be completely embarrassed if someone found you you were a part of the creation of this product.
