The short story is that teaching is, by far, the hardest thing I've ever done. It was also extremely rewarding, and I'm very grateful I did it. But it was not going to be sustainable for me. I felt it would buy me some time to figure out my life, while easing me back into tech and being fun. I cofounded a startup when I was there, which failed, but introduced me to the NYC tech scene in the process.
