- anthk 2y agoThe Basque Country too, both in France and Spain. We call the 'txokos', in Spanish, sociedad gastronómica (no translation is needed).
- ahartmetz 2y agoI think there used to be a similar thing in Germany, the "Kulturverein". AFAIK, these were similar clubs about nothing particular (presumably, food and drinks were served when they met) - but these days, the few remaining ones are actually about promoting art and culture, it seems.
