This was also a thing in Alsace (France), under the same name. However I only ever heard of it from my mother, as it is was a thing people did when she was young, but isn't a thing anymore since decades. Maybe in a few villages?
- thiago_fm 2y agoGiven that control over Alsace was shared between Germany and France many times in history, it makes sense. I believe it's still done, but it's mostly too old people. In big cities in Germany you will often seen youth that no longer do it.
