if you have all of the enum variants constrained to be the same variant, this is just AoS/SoA with a single extra u8 field lifted out of the individual variants, not what you would expect from the title (the variants…not all being the same) now this can then be wrapped in another layer (SoSoA?) when partitioning a set of heterogeneous enum values but the post makes no mention of that
