Engineers and the New Technocracy
- nis0s 2y agoI am not sure I see a technocracy as yet, and to me it seems the underlying philosophy is simply dark enlightenment. I find dark enlightenment is an incomplete perspective for determining any basis of truth and reality. Even if the goal is to optimize game theoretic interactions, dark enlightenment leaves one wanting in interactions where the other players favor cooperation and mutual benefits.
- Terr_ 2y agoIt is not a technocracy. It's just the same old American corporatism as ever, the current robber-barons are simply riding a different sector of the economy that happens to have "tech" in the name. Like someone working as an engineer for Standard Oil, do not make the mistake of thinking that--just because you have a career in the same sector--the political-donor class shares your values or way of looking at the world.
