FDA Rewrites Rules of 'Healthy' Foods for First Time in 30 Years

- not_your_vase 2y agoCool, but it wasn't our generation's discovery that these non-healthy foods are not particularly healthy. An interesting question would be how on earth was sugar-stuffed candy yogurt considered to be healthy until 2024 by a federal agency. And also, what will be removed from this list in 2050...
- NotGMan 2y agoDecentralization of media reporting played a huge role in this. "Don't do your own research" and "trust the experts" manipulation were pushed too far. People lost faith in anything government related. This could also be a bad thing since people may stop caring about those agencies, which could in theory allow them to do even crazier things since they already burned all public good-will so they might as well YOLO it and hope that politicians and big companies protect them.
