Ask HN: What personal projects do you have planned for the holidays?
I rarely finish many, or even any, of them - but at this time of year I often have a few things I hope to build or investigate during the festive break. Sometimes they're practical, but often they're entirely frivolous!
What are yours?

- Terr_ 2y agoI'm going to fail to fully complete Advent of Code. Again. Honestly, I'm not sure whether my current lack of side projects indicates getting dumber, getting older, or some kind of depression.

- Ohkay 2y agoI’m going to work on a file format to help test my compiler. It’s a json superset that will compile to json. The goal is to hopefully save me from too many curly-braces syndrome.
- syndicatedjelly 2y agoGot 8 days through AoC before giving up/leaving for the holidays Finished a presentation on bash tools. Surprisingly, many devs seem to be allergic to using the shell as a default, instead preferring to thrash about in some sub-standard GUI that runs inside an Electron app. Trying to convince everyone to return to their roots Finishing up a small business grant application that my co-founder and I have been working on for a couple months now. That's the big accomplishment I'd say
