There was a topic here about quality not that long ago... One way to find out about actual quality stuff is to go on forum about expensive hobbies. There are regularly threads like: "what else do you not mind spending money on?"
And some people did lots of research and have no tolerance for crap.
It may look silly but I only discovered lately quality soap from a fancy famous brand. Wife and daughter both love it too.
You can think "overpriced poor quality soap, I may as well buy the cheapest one". But it s simply not how things work.
Now finding quality stuff is not easy. It takes research. That s why I think trying to go on a forum where people with some money hang out and discuss about everything is not a bad idea.
The person who happens to have the same point of view when it comes to build quality of a certain car brand and who happens to also share your point of view of a particular speakers brand (eg it s got a beautiful Macassar ebony finish and sounds amazing at its pricepoint) may happen to have an idea or two when it comes to finding other quality items.
Now of course you can believe everything is shut, that a $100 soundboard sounds flawless, that an Ikea furniture is of the same quality as Giorgio Collection ones (way overpriced btw) and that a Lada is as enjoyable as a Porsche.
But that s not what "quality" means.
