I really thought this pure ruby implementation was neat, though I never actually used it in production. It's been long since abandoned. I'm curious in general about the status of pure ruby implementations. It looks like they killed json_pure? If so, that's a bummer. Does anyone know the details? By far the most interesting part of the posts to me are the Ruby optimizations not so much the C ones.
