Have a look at any "mature" Java project on Github and you'll quickly come away with the opposite: "Wow! It's even worse than I remember!" "Wow! How many files and directories does this project NEED? It's like someone decided that it's easier to manage files than code..." ...and there's still XML everywhere :(
