You're Sleeping on AI SWEs
- gnabgib 2y agoIt's a shame they wait until the end to mention: > We believe AI software engineers will be a critical piece of infrastructure for every company, customized to their workflows, codebase and business problems. > We are building a platform to enable that future: tools, context, and sandboxes for AI SWEs.
- jmvldz 2y agoOoh, fair point. Did it feel less compelling because we didn't mention that at the top?
- pvg 2y agoIt makes it come off like a tutorial mixed up with content marketing which is not a great combo for an HN post.
- jmvldz 2y agoI see what you mean. So do you think a pure tutorial would have been better? This is our first HN post so I was trying to strike a good balance between talking about what we think the future will look like and briefly mentioning what we're up to. I could definitely have kept it to a tutorial, though, and saved the plug for what we're building for a later Show HN or Launch HN.
- pvg 2y agoNot really, one explanation here https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=26869544 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=26869544 And some more here from the Show HN page https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=22336638 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=22336638 There's a longer version of some of these you can just ask dang for.
- rsynnott 2y agoWhen something is, essentially, a marketing piece for the author, it is, at least, good manners for the author to mention that upfront.
