I suspect you're confused about the beginning of what I wrote. I am not referring to the value of sharing your opinion here, I am saying that we need to stop having opinions on others' ability to endure being here, period. When we allow ourselves this sort of self-righteous indignation, we perpetuate the normalization of restrictions to the autonomy of adults in society.
While existence can be meaningful and valuable, it may not be so for everyone - for any number of reasons - and that's perfectly valid. Though it may be painful to consider that our loved ones might decide they've had enough, any opinion we hold on their choice is inherently self-serving.
